New polymers with potential application in a waste water purification from inorganic contaminants were synthesized via a chemical modification of poly(vinyl chloride) by "click” method based on copper(I)-catalyzed Huisgen reaction. The structure of the resulting polymers containing 1,4-disubstituted triazole units was confirmed by infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), nitrogen elemental analysis and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The obtained polymers were subsequently used in the elimination of nitrate ions and metalions from the wastewater of Beja region (Tunisia).
